Charlie got a Kitty Cat. We are still deciding on an official name, but are leaning towards Recon. He is all black with green eyes and about the same size as Charlie. Charlie is as happy as one could ever be. He loves his kitty so much that the poor kitty will probably lose some weight in the next week or so as he is not able to stay in any one spot too long before his new best friend comes to play. Charlie is full of love, excitement, and plenty of hugs for "Recon" and when he needs to relax he simply uses the kitty for a pillow. He is so sweet. My favorite is when he claps his hands to summon the cat while saying his version of kitty which sounds more like a drawn out way of saying key. We are sure to have lots of wonderful memories with our new addition. Best of all, he will always be Charlie's first pet, and hold a special place in his heart. Lots of learning opportunities are and have been presented already with a pet. It may not be the sister I desire for Charlie but it is certainly somebody to entertain and play with the baby.

November 2012
Just a few random pics. Charlie has been snuggling with his animals, which has made for a Where's the Baby I Spy... So cute! He also helped mama clean the bathroom since he helps me get ready everyday and personally destroys my bathroom. But I love it.
Halloween Trick-or-Treating
My little sack of Taters had so much fun visiting all his Grandmas and Grandpas on Halloween. He was a little unsure of the yard decorations at one house; he got to give candy out at another; and spent the rest of his night climbing and rearranging at the third. He was so exhausted that he fell asleep in the car on the way home. I think that proves a successful Halloween!
Love my pumpkins!
Just some cute pictures of Charlie enjoying his pumpkins. We carved the big one with cousins at Grandmas and picked the little pumpkins from Vala's Pumpkin Patch.
Just a little pizza with Oreos
To our surprise, Charlie has found his very own way to eat Oreos, with a slice of pizza. He is a twist open and eat only the inside type of guy if you can't see by the pictures. We should also note that he used the oven drawer to reach the Oreos and pizza box. Such a silly guy:) so independent!

Family Fun
We had so much fun carving pumpkins with our cousins! Charlie was not interested in getting into the mess so he watched mommy carve from the safety of grandmas lap. Later all of the cousins gathered by their headstones, personalized and made with love by grandpa. Charlie's reads, "big bad Charlie fell off his Harley." So cute! Grandmas yard is the perfect backdrop to Halloween pictures. Safe to say she loves to decorate her yard! Later Charlie helped grandpa vacuum the kitchen floor after he installed a new light and fan. He is such a good helper. Now if I could get him to clean up at home that would be super. We are excited for Halloween and the big reveal of Charlie's costume!

Puppy Love
Charlie having a lovely chat with the neighbor dog Duggan. After about 5 minutes of Duggan barking back he had to go inside and ruin all of Charlie's fun. But Charlie has such a love for dogs that I am sure this will be a habit for a while. Right now everything with four legs is "dog!" Then with his finger to his lips tells them "shhhh!!" True puppy love! Melts my heart every time. In fact this week we even got a new puppy hat, complete with floppy puppy dog ears.

Special Moments
Charlie and I were so excited to go have a play date with Laura (Charlie's God Mother) and her son Aiden, who is just 4 months older. It is so great because Laura and I have been best friends since second grade and she and her husband, Matt, just bought a house around the corner from us. Tonight Aiden and Charlie had so much fun playing with all of Aiden's fun toys. The best was they were playing with the pool balls. The reason it means so much is because playing pool at our homes growing up was a staple of Laura and I's pass time . For countless hours we would play pool, eat deer jerky, and talk about life. Occasionally we would put stipulations to make our time and conversations better such as, playing left handed or one handed or any other silly way we could think of. Those are hands down the best memories we have together and it was so special to see our boys get in on our tradition! They have many more play dates to look forward to, but this one will always be a little bit more special. Big thanks to our dear friends for being Charlie's God Parents, and for moving so close! I know Charlie will always be in great company whenever time allows for our play dates. Charlie is so blessed to have such amazing God Parents! We love you Matt, Laura, and Aiden. Here's to our boys growing up together and following our traditions!

Ready for the 4th
Today Charlie got to go pick out some fireworks. We found the most adorable little backpack full of fireworks. Of course Charlie wore it around and won the hearts of everybody working at the firework stand. He also landed his second marketing gig! They took pictures of him with his backpack on for their facebook and website:) I love having the cute baby!! It certainly beats having the kid that is kicking and screaming! Love my baby:)

Breakfast
Charlie decided the fruit an peanut butter toast that daddy made him for breakfast just wasn't enough so he got his own breakfast. He managed to take out the whole bag of Lucky Charms, spill some out, and enjoyed a morning treat! Afterwards, he helped mommy do some sweeping up.

Sick Bear:(
I feel like my baby has been sick for months:( we had our 12 month check up when Charlie was 13 months old. He barely made his way onto the charts. His head was 2% his height 10% and his weight was 8%. Safe to say he is little. But, since then he has rocked fevers from anywhere between 102.9 to normal. Even though he is currently getting his bottom 3rd tooth on the his right side, I just didn't feel this was the cause of his illness. We went in Monday to see the doctor and finally got some medicine to make it better. We are so thankful for grandma and grandpa who were able to keep our sweet baby while we had class since school was not a real option. For the past couple days Charlie has been at his worst:( eyes matted shut, refusal to take medicine, and coughing throughout the night. Hopefully the meds work quickly and Charlie will be able to do normal summer activities!

He said what?
Yesterday, Charlie finally called me mom! Typically he calls me dad, daddy, dada, or Jenee. I was so happy, after 14 months, and a unique vocabulary, I heard my baby say mom! Yes, I cried like a baby when I finally heard it! It was absolutely music to my ears! I would certainly chalk it up to one of my proudest mommy moments! I love, love, love my sweet baby boy:)

10 Months already?
Wow! I cannot believe that my little baby is ten months old already! He is the most amazing part of my life, and though it makes me sad to think how quickly the time has gone, it also excites me to watch him as he continues to learn:) I guess they say that, "time flies when you're having fun." If that is the case we are having a blast!!
Today we had to go do some shopping for some new comfy pants, since last week his 6m pants were just right on the edge of too short. It is funny though that he is so short, that at 10m he was still wearing 6m pants. Oh well, any reason to shop! While we were out, Charlie also got a new r/c helicopter for his 10m birthday. It is a toy for him and daddy to play with. He was very impressed with cousin Javian's last week.
I finally completed Charlie's squishy board today also. It is just another preschool lesson plan that won't leave my head. I believe Kindercare curriculum titled it, "a symphony of color," which was always a little weird to me. It is made by partially filling baggies with corn syrup, food coloring, and glitter. You double bag each bag and tape the openings over. Then you tape each bag to a poster board and tadahhh "a symphony of colors." Charlie was just about to go down for a nap when I was finishing it up, but in true Charlie fashion, he fought sleep to stay up and play with his new squishy board. However, after the second time he tipped over and face planted into the floor along with falling over and hitting the wall because he was so tired, he had to lose the battle and go to sleep. I guess that was the literal meaning to the phrase, "hitting the wall." He is so much like me in that he wants to continue doing what he is doing all the time. He doesn't want to wake up in the morning, or go to sleep at night. Just like his stubborn mama! Which explains my 2:00am blogging.
We are supposed to be receiving our first real snow fall of the year this weekend so who knows... We may have snowy pictures up soon as well!!
