Phone blogging!

I am trying out a new idea here. I am trying to create a new post from my phone. I think I've got it, however I'm not sure I know how to or if it is possible to upload a picture from my phone. I will keep trying. Charlie is busy reading/chewing his books right now so I have a few minutes.

Officially Fired!!

So I have been officially fired from Charlie's blog, well maybe not fired, however I have been read my rights from my mother for creating such a gap between post. So today I will fix the problem:)
We have been such a busy family the last several weeks. We had some problems with Charlie not gaining enough weight so between doctor visits, weight checks, and trying to get accustomed to formula it was busy, busy, busy! We have made a few strides in the right direction of weight, even though he is still in the 2 and 3 percentile for height and weight, but who really expected him to ever be big? I am afraid he doesn't really ever have a chance of being the 6'3 280 kind of guy;)
In other news we have been busy trying to arrange our house and baby proof everything since Charlie has become a little mover. He is so busy and so interested in everything around him. I could literally sit all night and do nothing but watch him explore. I love watching him learn. It amazes me that he is the same little boy that I brought home from the hospital that would sleep 23 hours a day. To see the things he can do now just warms my heart. He can get around on his own, hold his own bottle, eat solid foods, pull himself up on things, and even voice his opinions either through laughter or attitude his little personality is just so precious. He is my greatest gift in life and makes every day better than the day before!
Charlie was also Baptized this last Sunday and is now an official member of the Lord's family! He is so lucky to have so many friends and family to support and guide him as he takes on this crazy world! He is also blessed with amazing Godparents, Matt and Laura O'gorman. Laura and I have been best friends since second grade and I know that she will always guide Charlie in the right direction and be there for him as she has always been there for me! As a bonus, Charlie gained a God brother from them as well, their 10 months old son, Aiden. I am so excited to watch those two grow up together and hopefully find the same gift of friendship as Laura and I had.
In other news, we our taking our first official family vacation this weekend to Minnesota for the Nebraska v. Minnesota football game. I plan on doing a little bit of shopping in addition to the game. We are also going to take Charlie to the Rainforest Cafe. He loves watching things around him and I think he will absolutely love it there! We are blessed that Adam's Mom is making the trip with us so that Charlie can come and join in some fun too. Reality is that I am not ready to leave my baby yet, so she will be watching Charlie Saturday while we do some damage in Minneapolis:) Hopefully we will continue to be able to take family with us as we go on vacations, so that everybody has a chance to get out of the state. Next vacation is Vegas in March if anybody wants to start saving pennies now.
This sums up the last several weeks, as I am learning to balance everything some things may be put on hold, but not ever for too long. I just don't want to be so busy with side projects that I miss my baby growing up. There is no greater gift, than the time I have been given to be with my baby... who is now waking up. Keep checking back for new updates and pictures and as always keep chugging along with Charlie!

My Promise!

Today I am taking a little extra time to love my baby and thank God for such a wonderful blessing in my life! My heart goes out to the parents and family of baby Donovan, who went to be with Jesus today, at just three months old. Sometimes I feel like I am a robot, just going through the motions to get done what needs to be done in a day. It is sad that so often it takes a tragedy to remind of us our blessings in life. Today I promise you Charlie, that Mommy will always come back for one more kiss, an extra hug, and will never let you doubt how much I love you! You are my gift from God, and I will always treat you that way. I will remember that I am here to teach you, provide for you, and love you so that you can grow up to be anything you want to be. You are my shinning star, my inspiration, and my motivation! Mommy loves you baby boy! "Love you forever, like you for always, as long as I live, my baby you'll be," <3

Boys night

Mommy worked a double at work today, thanks to Daddy volunteering her:) However, I was able to come home for a few hours in between to see my 2 favorite boys! I am jealous, but love that Charlie and Daddy have boys night on Saturdays while I work. Boys night generally consist of Pizza, a movie, then homework for Daddy. When I do get the pleasure of being around for these nights, they are my favorite! I thank God everyday for my blessings, my Charlie, and his amazing Dad! Often times I find myself just smiling knowing how amazing of a Dad Adam is, and Charlie doesn't even know yet how lucky he is!! I look forward to the days of Charlie learning so much stuff from Daddy! I have to say those thoughts are the only happy thoughts I have about my baby growing up, because I, as most moms probably do, don't want him to grow up too fast! Although, I am just so excited to teach him new things and "meet" the person he is going to be. Charlie is my bestest friend, and Daddy is in a very close second spot;) I positively mean it when I say I LOVE my boys! I am so very blessed!!
We also had our baptism class this morning, FINALLY! I feel like our schedules have been so very crazy and a minor lack of communication, made it seem like forever! Charlie, I have to say, loves going to Church. He is generally the best kid, but then again, we sit in the pew reserved for parents with infants and ushers all the way in the back:) I am sure that there are some very well behaved kids in front as well. I think this week we will try to sit closer, because Mommy gets very uneasy around misbehaved kids. I blame my Mother. In fact, I never misbehaved as a child because my Mom used to tell me that I would get a spanking , "in front of God and everybody." Now, I didn't care if Joe Shmo saw it, but I was always terrified, because if God saw it, then he would know I was being bad:) It may sound bad, but it worked! And, now it is something we love to laugh about! I appreciate so many little things now. I appreciate my Mom for always making us go to sunday school, bible study, CCD with friends, retreats, and anything else the church had to offer. Charlie can be sure, he will have the same opportunities within the church that I, and his dad had, perhaps a bit more organized though! To say the least, I am delighted to have have Charlie's baptism day in the workings! It is just the beginning the wonderful life he is sure to lead; and what better way could we ask for, than beginning his relationship with Christ?
Also, we saw our Magen today, hugged her, loved her, then pooped all over her:) I am beginning to think that pooping is a sign of affection for Charlie. However, thanks to OxyClean, the situation was controlled, Greenworks did the clean up, and Magen is much appreciated for her expertise in the area. Where many would have handed him over to Mom and Dad, Magen whisked him off to clean him up. Thank you Magen!! All in all, a good day, now Mommy needs to hit the hay!

It's a bird,it's a plane... it's Daddy!!

We are coming to the end of the week, which makes me sad, because my baby is another week older... again. I just don't know where the time goes. Between work, school, daycare, dinner, and homework the weeks just seem to keep flying by. I read a facebook post today that said 19 weeks until Christmas... until Charlie's first Christmas. I am so excited. We are approaching the holiday season which is exciting, but I am still reserved because my baby is growing up too fast. We will soon be celebrating many first, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas New Years, Valentines Day, and before I know it my baby will be one! We will be having a PIRATE themed party for Chaaaarrrlie's birthday, hee hee! But, lets talk about little man right now.
Charlie, Great-Grandma Schroeder, Daddy
Charlie attended his second funeral in his short life yesterday, that of his Great Grandma Schroeder (Adam's Grandma.) It was expected which always helps to prepare, and I am so grateful that Charlie got to meet her last Sunday. It was cute because Adam went into her room first to make sure it was ok to visit, and from the hallway I heard, "where's that baby!?" I knew then that it was ok for us to visit. Charlie was one of her several great-grandchildren she was gifted with in her 91 years. The funeral took place in the same location as my grandma and grandpa's funerals, and as sad as I am that they are no longer with us here a great friend put me at ease when she said that they got to meet Charlie before I did, that they sent my perfect little boy to me. For those words, I will forever be grateful. I love and miss my grandparents so much as my parents always made sure we were close to them, something else I will always be grateful for! I can sit here and laugh as I picture my Granny clicking her tongue at Charlie and my Gramps teaching Charlie how to put on his shoes:) <3 Charlie's first funeral was that of my Aunt Cheryl when he was just 6 days old, a story that is still to new to share without tears! Perhaps on a different day.

Hats off to salute the color Guard
Now, on a lighter note! Daddy went Skydiving!!! Saturday was the absolute best day I have had since the day Charlie was born. We began our morning way too early to take Daddy to Crete for his 6 hour skydiving class that began at 8AM, as a birthday present from Mommy. The class was so long because he took the class that allowed him to go by himself and not be attached to another person. SCARY!! After we dropped Daddy off we returned home to nap and shower to get ready for this years Czech Fest in Wilber. This was exciting because the very first baby thing I bought was a Husker onsie there last year; I had just found out I was preggo at the end of July. When we finally arrived Charlie was gifted with a Czech vest and onsie, from who else other than Grandma. Charlie can be certain that if Momma says no, Grandma will probably say yes, she is good at that! A trick she may have learned from my Granny:) The sun, as usual, was blistering hot so Charlie got to hang out with Aunt Christie in the shade while Magen and I wondered to the various tents. We didn't spend too long there because Daddy called and was ready for us to come back to watch his big jump, so on the road again we were, back to Crete. We were so very excited to watch Daddy, nervous, but excited. Charlie was such a good boy, he sat in his stroller and watched Ice-Age while we waited. After daddy made a graceful landing back to earth Charlie and I went back to the air-conditioned car to wait. I buckled him into the front seat so he could cool off, and the little guy fell asleep. It was so cute. He just leaned over, snuggled up, and closed his eyes. I felt bad when I had to move him into his seat to drive home, because he was just too cute passed out in the front seat. When we got home Daddy did some grilling before the storm rolled in, while Mommy and Baby played. It wasn't too long and Charlie was out for the night (like 6:00), a beautiful ending to a perfect day!
Passed out in the front seat waiting for Daddy.

4 Months and Counting

I have had a change of plans for Charlie's blog. It was my intention to catch up from when he was born to the present but I simply never found the time to sit down and recount the last few months. So here is to a new beginning and a new plan. Charlie Bear's blog will begin now. The day of his 4 month birthday. I will post our current events and on the days in which there are a few extra minutes between school, work, daycare, homework, and family time I hope I will be able to recount some special stories of Charlie's life so far:)

Todays Stats: 8/3/11 4 Months

Height: 62.5 Cm/ 24.5in           25%
Weight: 5.77Kg/ 12 lbs 11oz     5%
Head: 39.6 Cm/ 15.5in               5%

Up until now Charlie has followed the 25% curve perfectly, but as you may have noticed his head and weight have dropped off the curve. He really is Mommy's little peanut, even though I frequently question how I will continue carrying him around in his carrier. The doctor (Jones-Jobst) thinks the weight drop off is because of his recent start to daycare as we are still trying to adjust to a proper eating and sleeping routine. Much of the time at home has been spent sleeping, because he is having a hard time sleeping at school. Right now Charlie is going to SCC CDC, which is great for his first daycare because both Adam and I are in the building and can pop in when we want to. This helps me so much, because I am able to go feed him rather than hanging out in the bathroom stall at school with my breast pump. I am sure all you moms know how "stealth" pumps are.
Some of Charlie's favorite 4 month tricks are rolling over when he wants to, playing in this jumper, swinging, laying with his giant caterpillar (Milford), playing the piano... with his feet, cuddling with his favorite blanket (Lovey) and his favorite trick of putting everything into his mouth... mostly fingers, whose fingers doesn't matter:) He also likes to sit up on the couch and watch movies with daddy. He likes long "walks" where you hold his hands as he prances around like a big boy. Oh, and he especially likes jumping on the bed; a trick learned from Grandma that just seem to stick:)
Ceresco Fireworks, Charlie got to be in the parade with Grandpa
I suppose I could continue going but instead I will stop for now, and go watch Phineas and Ferb (our favorite) with my little man. I am excited to begin this journey of blogging and hope you continue to Chug Along with Charlie as I am sure the real fun, is just beginning! <3

I think I can... I think I can!!

In an effort to be the best Mommy I can be, I am attempting my skills at a formal blog for Charlie. It is my desire to relieve my facebook friends from my constant status updates and pictures and create something that Charlie will be able to look back at one day, and appreciate his crazy Mamma for always having a camera in his face, and a story to tell. I will first have some catching up to do, since as I sit here, little man is sound asleep on the couch next to me and is 10 1/2 weeks old. But, I can do it! Wish me luck!
